REDBAG 112 GLUE FOR PORCELAIN GRANITE

Cement-based frost-resistant, moisture-resistant, and non-shrink adhesive that has an increased setting time and increased ease of application, and does not require the addition of any additional emulsions for bonding materials with low water absorption (less than 1%).

  • Appointment

REDBAG 112 - adhesive mixture intended for internal and external cladding of walls and floors made of strong concrete, brick, cement-sand, cement-lime and other mineral base, which is not subject to deformation, with porcelain stoneware tiles, ceramic, compacted concrete tiles, and tiles with water absorption of less than 1% and a size of up to 600×600 mm (or an area of not more than 0.36 m2 with a maximum length of one of the sides of not more than 800 mm).

Adhesion strength to the base of not less than 1.0 MPa.

  • Preparing the base

The base must be dry, not frozen, strong, capable of bearing loads, free from dust, dirt, oils, greases, old paint residues, wax and other substances that reduce adhesion, have uniform water absorption, and meet the requirements of DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013, DSTU-N B V.2.6-212:2016. Remove weak areas of the base, and level surface irregularities over 10 mm using the REDBAG 112 mixture 24 hours before starting work.

The concrete base must not shrink after laying the tiles, therefore, when finishing, it must be no younger than 3 months from the moment of laying the concrete, and the residual humidity of the concrete must be below 4%. Cast concrete bases have a smooth surface and low moisture absorption, so after cleaning before finishing, they must be treated with an adhesive primer for dense, smooth, low- or no-moisture-absorbing bases - REDBAG SUPERSTICK.

Bases made of cement screeds, cement, cement-lime plasters must have a residual moisture content below 4%. Such bases have a high moisture absorption, so after cleaning before finishing, they must be treated with a deep penetration primer REDBAG ADHESIS.

Aerated concrete must be cleaned of dust and treated with a vapor-permeable primer for hygroscopic surfaces REDBAG INTERLACE before finishing.

  • Cooking method

Pour the REDBAG 112 dry mixture into a container with clean water (at the rate of 5-5.75 l of water per 25 kg or 200-230 ml per 1 kg of dry mixture), mix using a construction mixer until a homogeneous mass without lumps is formed. Leave for 3 minutes and mix again.

Do not add other materials to the prepared adhesive solution.

Attention! REDBAG mixtures are created on the basis of modern high-tech recipes using the latest additives from world manufacturers.

When preparing the mixture, use water only in the volume indicated on the packaging!

  • Work execution technology

Work should be carried out at a base temperature of +5 °C to +30 °C. Do not wet the tile and the base beforehand! The adhesive layer after laying the tile should be at least 2 mm and no more than 10 mm. Apply a layer of adhesive to the surface of the base with the smooth side of the notched trowel, then level it with the notched side of the trowel (the trowel should be held at an angle of 45º to the surface). The tile should be pressed so that the adhesive mortar mixture protrudes from the joints, which ensures the absence of cavities between the tiles and the surface to be tiled. The joints between the tiles should be cleaned of the mortar mixture to a depth equal to the thickness of the facing material. The width of the inter-tile joints should be at least 2 mm. After laying the facing tiles, remove any possible adhesive residue with a damp sponge. The shelf life of the mortar mixture is 2 hours. The tile must be laid no later than 25 minutes from the moment of applying the adhesive solution to the base. The tile must be adjusted and the tile leveling system (SVP, DLS, TLS) must be applied within 25 minutes after its laying. When using the tile leveling system (SVP, DLS, TLS), a combined method of facing must be used: the mortar mixture must be applied to the base in a layer the thickness of which must correspond to the size of the trowel tooth, and to the tile in a layer at least 1 mm thick, evenly over the entire surface. Technological movement on the floor, dismantling of the tile leveling system and grouting of inter-tile joints are possible 24 hours after laying the tile. On areas over 30 m2, expansion joints are arranged in the facing, which are filled with silicone sealant. Expansion joints that are in the base must be duplicated in the facing.

  • Mixture consumption

Mixture consumption: 1.3 kg/m² at a layer thickness of 1 mm.

Spatula tooth size, mm Consumption* of adhesive mixture kg/m2
    4 2.5
    6 3.8
    8 5.1
    10 6.4
    12 7.7

*The consumption of the mixture depends on the unevenness of the base and the skills of the performer.

REDBAG 112 mixture complies with: EN 12004 class C2 and C.1.ZK2 DSTU B V.2.7-126:2011

Shelf life and storage conditions: 12 months from the date of manufacture, in a dry place, in undamaged original packaging. The date of manufacture is indicated on the packaging.
