REDBAG 115 - adhesive mixture intended for internal and external cladding of walls and floors made of strong concrete, brick, cement-sand, cement-lime, gypsum and other mineral bases, including those subject to deformation (i.e.: A. Bases subject to mechanical influences - vibrations through the foundation or from equipment, as well as partitions assembled on a profile system - plasterboard, gypsum fiber. B. Bases subject to atmospheric or temperature influences, namely sudden changes in temperature, but not higher than +70 ºС - facade insulation system, heated floor, even when it is necessary to lay tiles on an electric mat, basements, terraces, balconies, roofs that are in use, etc. C. Bases that have a "floating" layer in their design - often extruded insulation polystyrene foam, or have a separating layer - cardboard, polyethylene, bitumen substrates ...) mosaic and glass tiles, as well as tiles made of marble, and natural and artificial light stone with water absorption from 0% and a size of up to 1000×1000 mm (or an area of not more than 1 m2 with a maximum size of one of the sides of not more than 1200 mm) The REDBAG 115 mixture can be used for lining pools and tanks, as well as surfaces without removing old tiles, i.e. "tile on tile".

Adhesion strength to the base of at least 1.5 MPa.

For gluing tiles with an area of more than than 1 m2 and with one side size more than 1200 mm - HIGHLY ELASTIC THIXOTROPIC ADHESIVE for large format tiles REDBAG 116.

  • Preparing the base

The base must be dry, not frozen, strong, capable of bearing loads, free from dust, dirt, oils, greases, old paint residues, wax and other substances that reduce adhesion, have uniform water absorption, and meet the requirements of DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013, DSTU-N B V.2.6-212:2016. Remove weak areas of the base, and level surface irregularities over 10 mm using the REDBAG 115 mixture 24 hours before starting work.

The concrete base must not shrink after laying the tiles, therefore, when finishing, it must be no younger than 3 months from the moment of laying the concrete, and the residual humidity of the concrete must be below 4%. Cast concrete bases have a smooth surface and low moisture absorption, so after cleaning before finishing, they must be treated with an adhesive primer for dense, smooth, low- or no-moisture-absorbing bases - REDBAG SUPERSTICK.

Bases made of cement screeds, cement, cement-lime and gypsum plasters must have a residual moisture content below 4%. Such bases have a high moisture absorption, so after cleaning before finishing, they must be treated with a deep penetration primer REDBAG ADHESIS.

Aerated concrete must be cleaned of dust and treated with a vapor-permeable primer for hygroscopic surfaces REDBAG INTERLACE before finishing.

  • Cooking method

Pour the REDBAG 115 dry mixture into a container with clean water (at the rate of 5.5-6.25 l of water per 25 kg or 220-250 ml per 1 kg of dry mixture), mix using a construction mixer until a homogeneous mass without lumps is formed. Leave for 3 minutes and mix again.

Do not add other materials to the prepared adhesive solution.

Attention! REDBAG mixtures are created on the basis of modern high-tech recipes using the latest additives from world manufacturers.

When preparing the mixture, use water only in the volume indicated on the packaging!

  • Work execution technology

Work should be carried out at a base temperature of +5 °C to +30 °C. Do not wet the tile and the base beforehand! The adhesive layer after laying the tile should be at least 2 mm and no more than 10 mm. Apply a layer of adhesive to the surface of the base with the smooth side of the notched trowel, then level it with the notched side of the trowel (the trowel should be held at an angle of 45º to the surface). The tile should be pressed so that the adhesive mortar mixture protrudes from the joints, which ensures the absence of cavities between the tiles and the surface to be tiled. The joints between the tiles should be cleaned of the mortar mixture to a depth equal to the thickness of the facing material. The width of the inter-tile joints should be at least 2 mm. After laying the facing tiles, remove any possible adhesive residue with a damp sponge. The shelf life of the mortar mixture is 2 hours. The tiles must be laid no later than 35 minutes from the moment of applying the adhesive solution to the base. The adjustment of the tiles and the application of the tile leveling system (SVP, DLS, TLS) must be carried out within 35 minutes after its laying. When using the tile leveling system (SVP, DLS, TLS), and when facing bases that are prone to deformation, and when facing tiles with a size larger than 600×600 mm (or an area larger than 0.36 m2, or with a maximum length of one of the sides larger than 800 mm), it is necessary to use a combined facing method: the mortar mixture should be applied to the base in a layer the thickness of which should correspond to the size of the trowel tooth, and to the tiles in a layer at least 1 mm thick, evenly over the entire surface. Technological movement on the floor, dismantling of the tile leveling system and grouting of inter-tile joints is possible 48 hours after laying the tiles. On areas over 30 m2, expansion joints are arranged in the cladding, which are filled with silicone sealant. Expansion joints that are in the base must be duplicated in the cladding.

To prevent destruction, the underfloor heating system can be turned on no earlier than 28 days after the floor is installed.
