  • Appointment

AGREEMENT FOR MOUNTING GYPSUM SHEETS REDBAG CONNECTOR – a mixture made on the basis of gypsum binder and polymer additives. Designed for frameless installation of gypsum boards, for fastening gypsum elements to a strong concrete, brick, cement-sand, cement-lime and other mineral base that is not prone to deformation. It is used inside buildings, namely in rooms with a normal level of air humidity, including kitchens and bathrooms.

Adhesion strength to the base is not less than 0.8 MPa.

  • Preparing the base

The substrate must be dry, not frozen, strong, capable of bearing loads, free from dust, dirt, oils, greases, lubricants, remnants of old paint, wax and other substances that reduce adhesion, have uniform water absorption, and meet the requirements of DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013, DSTU-N B V.2.6-212:2016. Remove weak areas of the base, and level out surface irregularities of more than 20 millimeters using a cement plaster mixture (for example, REDBAG 440 or REDBAG 444).

Ceramic brick walls and walls that are already finished with cement plasters have high moisture absorption, so after cleaning before installation work, they must be treated with a deep penetration primer REDBAG ADHESIS.

Cast concrete walls have a smooth surface and low moisture absorption, so after cleaning before installation work, they must be treated with an adhesive primer for dense, smooth, low or no moisture absorbing bases - REDBAG SUPERSTICK. Walls made of silicate bricks, which are smooth, must also be treated with REDBAG SUPERSTICK adhesive primer before installation.

Walls made of aerated concrete blocks must be cleaned of dust and treated with a vapor-permeable primer for hygroscopic surfaces REDBAG POROBAR or REDBAG INTERLACE.

  • Cooking method

Pour the REDBAG CONNECTOR dry mixture into a container with clean water (at the rate of 11.25-12.5 l of water per 25 kg or 450-500 ml per 1 kg of dry mixture), mix using a construction mixer until a homogeneous, lump-free mass is formed.

Do not add other materials to the prepared solution.

  • Work execution technology

Work should be carried out at a base temperature of +10 °C to +30 °C.

Apply the prepared mortar mixture to the plasterboard in the form of separate glue dots (one trowel) with an interval of 35 centimeters from each other. Press the plasterboard with the mortar applied to it to the prepared base and level it in the vertical and horizontal planes with light blows of a rubber hammer using the attached rule and level.

The layer of adhesive mortar after installing the GKL in the design position should be  not less than 5 millimeters and not more than 20 millimeters.

The shelf life of the mortar mixture from mixing to the beginning of hardening is approximately 90 minutes. Gluing, leveling and additional correction of the position of the plates must be completed before the adhesive mortar begins to harden.

Attention! Adjusting the pressed plate by pulling it in the opposite direction is not permissible, as it will lead to the destruction of the contact of the adhesive dot with the GCR or the base.

  • Mixture consumption

5-6 kg per 1 m². The mixture consumption depends on the unevenness of the substrate and the skills of the contractor.

REDBAG CONNECTOR mixture complies with: G.2.ZK6 DSTU B V.2.7-126:2011

Shelf life and storage conditions: 6 months from the date of manufacture, in a dry place, in undamaged original packaging. The date of manufacture is indicated on the packaging.
