REDBAG INTERLACE PRIMER FOR HYGROSCOPIC SURFACES CONCENTRATE 1:5

Creates an aqua barrier on porous substrates, promotes uniform drying and curing of gypsum and cement mortars, evenly coats screeds and forms an ideally prepared surface for pouring self-leveling compounds, does not run down walls or splash, vapor-permeable, alkali-resistant, suitable for both machine and manual application.

  • Purpose:

REDBAG INTERLACE CONCENTRATE is a vapor-permeable, alkali-resistant red primer concentrate based on the latest polymer dispersion technology. It contains no solvents or volatile substances and is intended for interior and exterior treatment of hygroscopic surfaces with high water absorption, such as aerated concrete, foam concrete, gas silicate, and shell rock, before the application of gypsum and cement mortars.

It creates a durable intermediate layer that does not dissolve under the influence of moisture from subsequent layers of construction mixtures. As a result, it reduces and equalizes the water absorption of the substrate, promotes uniform drying and curing of gypsum and cement-based mortars, and ensures their reliable adhesion to the surface.

REDBAG INTERLACE CONCENTRATE primer can be applied manually or by machine.

  • Preparing the base:

The substrate must be dry (residual surface moisture must not exceed 4%), unfrozen, solid, load-bearing, and cleaned of dust, dirt, oils, grease, lubricants, and old paint residues. The substrate must comply with the requirements of DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013 and DSTU-N B V.2.6-212:2016. Remove all weak and unstable areas of the surface.

  • Application instructions:

The air and substrate temperature during application and until the primer is completely dry must be between +5°C and +30°C, with relative humidity up to 80%. A temperature of +20 ± 2°C and relative humidity of 55 ± 5% are considered optimal for primer application. Under other conditions, the drying time may vary.

For the treatment of hygroscopic surfaces with high water absorption, such as aerated concrete, foam concrete, gas silicate, and shell rock, REDBAG INTERLACE CONCENTRATE primer must be stirred before use, then diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 and mixed again thoroughly.

For preparing floor screeds before pouring self-leveling compounds (for example, REDBAG 333, REDBAG 335), REDBAG INTERLACE CONCENTRATE primer must also be stirred before use, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5, and mixed again thoroughly.

It is recommended to stir the primer before each application. Apply the diluted primer evenly to the surface using a brush, roller, paintbrush, or by machine application. Do not apply undiluted!

Further operations on the treated surface may only be carried out after the primer has completely dried, but not earlier than 12 hours after application. The time interval between primer drying and the start of subsequent works should be kept as short as possible to prevent construction dust from settling on the substrate surface.

After completion of the work, immediately clean all tools and containers with water. Do not add any other materials to the primer.

  • Primer consumption:

From 0.15 to 0.25 kg/m² in diluted 1:5 condition, depending on the water absorption of the substrate.

  • Storage conditions:

12 months from the date of manufacture in the original undamaged packaging. Protect from freezing.

The production date is indicated on the packaging.
