  • Appointment

    REDBAG RUBBER SHIELD – ready-made elastic waterproofing of red color based on acrylic latex with reinforcing fiber in the form of mastic.

    Which is intended for protection of walls and floors (including heated) in wet and damp rooms (for example, bathrooms, shower cabins, etc.) inside buildings.

    And protection of external structures of open terraces, swimming pools, roof elements and facades from constant and periodic moisture.

    Applied from the side of water action:

    • on moisture-sensitive gypsum bases (gypsum plaster, plasterboard and gypsum fiber sheets, gypsum screeds, blocks, slabs, etc.);
    • mineral surfaces (concrete, brick, cement-sand, cement-lime, and lime plaster);
    • hygroscopic surfaces (with intensive water absorption), such as aerated concrete, foam concrete, gas silicate, shell rock.
  • Preparing the base

    The base must be dry, not frozen, strong, capable of bearing loads, free from dust, dirt, oils, fats, greases, remnants of old paint, wax and other substances that reduce adhesion, have uniform water absorption, and meet the requirements of DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013, DSTU-N B V.2.6-212:2016. Remove weak areas of the base.

    Before applying waterproofing, it is necessary to exclude capillary penetration of moisture into the base. Humidity The relative humidity of the concrete base should be no more than 20%, cement screed - no more than 2%, gypsum plaster - no more than 0.5%, cement plaster - no more than 1%, for heated floors - no more than 0.3%.

    Before applying REDBAG RUBBER SHIELD the surface should be moistened, preventing the appearance of a continuous water film, but in no case should it be primed.

    When arranging a "warm floor", waterproofing must be applied on top of the "warm floor" screed.

  • Work execution technology

    Mix the mastic until smooth. REDBAG RUBBER SHIELD mastic is applied undiluted with a brush, roller, plastic or rubber spatula onto a completely dry base in at least two layers with a total thickness of 1 mm to 2 mm. The temperature of the waterproofing, air, and base during work should be from +15°C to +25°C, and the relative humidity of the air should not exceed 65%.

    First, treat the corners, seams, joints of building boards, heads of mounting screws on building boards, joints of surfaces made of different materials, the surface around the floor drain, the surface around plumbing fixtures with mastic.

    When treating the corners, seams, joints of building boards and surfaces made of different materials, the surface around plumbing fixtures and the floor drain with mastic, use the reinforcing tape/cloth in the following way: lay the reinforcing tape/cloth in a fresh layer of mastic, press it tightly with a plastic (or rubber) spatula so that it is completely saturated with mastic. On the water drain on the floor, lay the reinforcing fabric in 2 layers. Then apply mastic to the entire surface and let it dry for at least 2 hours (until the waterproofing changes color).

    Apply the second layer of waterproofing to the entire surface and let it dry for at least 8 hours (until the waterproofing changes color). Check the density (thickness) of the waterproofing film and, if thin and/or absorbent areas are found, treat them again with mastic. Let the surface dry until the waterproofing changes color (at least 8 hours).

    Attention!

    The base covered with a layer of waterproofing has zero water absorption. What causes blocking

    penetration of cement milk into the base when using cement adhesive.

    Accordingly, for laying tiles on such a base, it is permissible to use only cement adhesive with a high content of polymer binders. And these are exclusively highly elastic cement adhesives.

    Therefore, for further cladding of the base treated with acrylic waterproofing, only REDBAG 114; REDBAG 115; REDBAG 116 can be used.

  • Cost

    from 0.8 to 1.4 kg/m² (based on 0.4 -0.7 kg per 1 m² of single-layer application).

    *Consumption depends on the unevenness of the base and the skills of the performer.
