  • Purpose:

REDBAG INTERNAL WATERPROOFING CORNER is used in combination with REDBAG 801 and REDBAG RUBBER SHIELD waterproofing materials for reliable sealing and protection of internal corners in high-moisture areas.

Provides elastic sealing of stress concentration areas where cracks are likely to occur, namely at internal wall-to-wall and wall-to-floor corners, in showers, bathrooms, balconies, terraces, and other wet areas.

Features high elasticity, waterproofness, and alkali resistance, allowing the corner piece to be used in waterproofing systems under tiles and in areas exposed to deformation loads.

  • Preparing the base:

The substrate must be dry, unfrozen, solid, capable of bearing loads, cleaned of dust, dirt, oils, grease, lubricants, old paint residues, wax, and other substances that reduce adhesion, have uniform water absorption, and comply with the requirements of DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013 and DSTU-N B V.2.6-212:2016. Weak areas of the substrate must be removed.

  • Preparation method:

The corner piece must be installed into the waterproofing system before the installation of the tape and membrane. Tile adhesive REDBAG 114 / 115 / 116 must be applied to the prepared surface in the internal corner area and evenly spread with a trowel.

Then the corner piece should be installed into the fresh adhesive layer, firmly pressed to the substrate, and smoothed with a trowel so that the fleece part is fully saturated with adhesive. During installation, formation of folds, air pockets, and incomplete adhesion of the material to the surface must be avoided.

After installation of the corner piece, the waterproofing tape is applied with an overlap of at least 5 cm onto the corner piece. The tape must be fully embedded into the adhesive layer and ensure a watertight connection in the corner area.

Next, the waterproofing membrane is installed, overlapping the tape and corner pieces to form a continuous waterproof layer in accordance with the system technology.

All system elements must be fully bonded without voids or delamination. Installation of corner pieces in expansion joints is not permitted. The work must be carried out in accordance with the installation technology for waterproofing and tiling systems.
